OnePlus’s first foray into the best smartwatch for oneplus market is a sleek, handsome model that’s more eye-catching than its rivals. It’s also an excellent fitness tracker, with a host of workout modes and a surprisingly accurate heart rate monitor. Its biggest strength is battery life, and a single charge will keep it running for days.
The UI is easy to use, with upward swipes opening your latest notification and downward swipes bringing up the quick settings menu. Swipes left and right will show your sleep results and other health data. It syncs with the OnePlus camera app, can control your phone’s music apps, and can even act as a remote for your TV.
There are two physical buttons on the watch, one at the top with a OnePlus logo and another below it that can be set to launch one of the installed apps with a press. Both work well, though the bottom button is a bit stiff to press.
Unlike the Wear OS watches from Apple and Samsung, OnePlus’s custom software runs on a real-time operating system and is fast and power efficient. This is similar to the software on budget Android smartwatches such as the Amazfit and Umidigi, and doesn’t allow for third-party watch faces or apps.
OnePlus’s custom software includes the basics such as music and timer apps, as well as a variety of workout and activity modes. It’s not as advanced as the Fitbit Sense or a Garmin, but it is still capable of providing viable heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring during exercise. It’s also a great option for sleep tracking, with over 100 different nighttime modes to choose from. However, it’s not quite as good at waking up from a deep sleep as the Apple Watch or the Fitbit Versa Sense, which can wake at the slightest tilt of your wrist.
